Program Information
Programs
For children 18 to 30 months of age Willowglen School offers a full day Toddler program. For children 30 months to 5 years of age the Montessori program is called a CASA program. At Willowglen we offer full and half day Casa programs five days per week. Children must be toilet trained to begin classes at the Casa level. We also offer a full day elementary program for students in grades 1 through 6.
In addition to the full Montessori curriculum, Willowglen School includes French, music, art, physical education and computer instruction.
Uniforms
Students in the Casa and Elementary programs are expected to wear the school uniform. Toddlers are not required to wear the school uniform however they should wear a plain white shirt. We feel that the wearing of uniforms encourages students to develop pride in their school and in themselves. It also helps build a sense of community among the students. All uniform items are expected to be clean and in good repair at all times. Uniform items are available through Beatties
Uniform Requirements:
Boys: Grey dress pants Girls: Navy tunic
White Shirt - button down dress shirt, or

Student Evaluation
There will be two written reports sent home during the year, although student evaluation is an ongoing process. Evaluation for the pre-school students takes the form of informal observations, anecdotal comments and teachers' records of achievements.
Elementary students= evaluation will be expanded to include quizzes and diagnostic tests based on material covered in class.Willowglen School uses CAT3 testing for students in grade 3. This comprehensive test allows teachers and parents to understand the strengths and performance comparison for each student.
Meet-the-teacher night will be held early in the school year. Parent-teacher interviews will be held following report cards.
Parent visits
Parents are encouraged to take an active interest in their child's education. All classrooms have been designed so that parents may watch the class from the hallway. In this way the students may continue working with less interruption and parents may have a better understanding of the activity which occurs in their absence.
